Who we are
N.a.di.r — Nature and Anthropos Dissemination and Research — is a Malta-based voluntary, non-profit organisation working across climate justice, human rights, migration, gender justice, biocultural diversity and socio-ecological wellbeing. N.a.di.r was created by people with backgrounds in international cooperation, research, community work, environmental practice and cultural initiatives, sharing a commitment to justice, care, dignity and ecological responsibility.
Our Vision
N.a.di.r believes that rethinking and decolonising human-nature relationships is essential to building more just and harmonious societies. Climate change, migration, racism, gender injustice, ecological destruction, cultural erasure, occupation, borders and inequality cannot be understood separately from one another. Our vision is rooted in the protection of biological and cultural diversity, the defence of human dignity, freedom of expression, gender self-determination, and the right of communities and ecosystems to exist free from violence, exploitation, forced displacement and ecological harm
Our Mission
N.a.di.r supports community-centred approaches to socio-ecological wellbeing, natural resource care, biocultural conservation and social justice. We aim to create and share knowledge, resources and connections that help make complex issues more accessible, while promoting rights-based, decolonial, feminist, anti-racist and intersectional perspectives. We believe that knowledge should not be extracted from communities, but co-produced with them through dialogue, reciprocity, care and respect for different forms of experience and expertise
Our Mediterranean focus
For us, the Mediterranean is not only a geographical area. It is a space of islands, borders, sea, migration routes, labour, tourism, ecological fragility, cultural memory, resistance and political responsibility. From Malta, N.a.di.r looks at the Mediterranean as a place where climate justice, human rights, migration justice, gender justice and socio-ecological wellbeing meet
Our approach
N.a.di.r works through a light, collaborative and sustainable approach. We inform by sharing short briefs, explainers and resources. We connect by building relationships with organisations, researchers, activists, artists and community initiatives. We advocate by supporting rights-based, decolonial, intersectional and community-centred approaches to social and environmental change.
